There are however new elements, particularly for features unique to CS5 and obscure key shortcuts. Following are general notes taken during seminar.<\/p>\n<h2>Adobe Photoshop<\/h2>\n<h3>General<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Alt Drag to scale all points.<\/li>\n<li>Alt Shift Drag to scale all points with constrained proportions.<\/li>\n<li>Stylize-&gt;Find Edges = Line Art<\/li>\n<li>Ctl+i, toggle background black\/white.<\/li>\n<li>Ctl + click new layer. New layer appears below current.<\/li>\n<li>Drag background over trashcan to unlock.<\/li>\n<li>Shift Ctl J cuts selection to new layer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Puppet Warp<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Works like Pen Tool (add points and drag).<\/li>\n<li>Puppet warp may be applied as a smart filter (always should be!), warp cannot.<\/li>\n<li>Only works on contiguous objects.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Layer Masking<\/h3>\n<p>Black = Color hidden<br \/>\nWhite = Color 100%<br \/>\nShift + Delete = Fill<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Hold Alt to constrain proportions.<\/li>\n<li>Use Ctl. 0<\/li>\n<li>Layer mask &#8211; Mask layer without modifying layer<\/li>\n<li>Hold Alt and click layer mask to place mask in main window.<\/li>\n<li>Hold shift and lick on mask to disable.<\/li>\n<li>Unlinked allows mask &amp; layer to move independently<\/li>\n<li>Adjustment layer; mess with colors without messing with layers.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Blending<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Shift\u00a0 +\/- changes blend mode of a layer.<\/li>\n<li>Alt &amp; Drag to move half of a split slider.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Selections<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Start with general selection.<\/li>\n<li>Select refine edge.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Clipping Mask<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Alt + Click between layers.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Mask from image:<\/p>\n<h3>Text<\/h3>\n<h4>Basic<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Dash, Alt Dash, Shift Alt Dash<\/li>\n<li>Shift alt 5 to merge font<\/li>\n<li>Pro fonts are \u201csmart\u201d; auto merging.<\/li>\n<li>Superscript for @,Copyright, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Path<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Pen, hold Shift to add points (same as Dreamweaver Polygons).<\/li>\n<li>Angle for curves.<\/li>\n<li>Text can then be added to stay in or on path.<\/li>\n<li>Drag finished text on path to far side to place text on inside of path.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Pen Tool<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Move pen over path, click to add control point. Click on previous control point to remove.<\/li>\n<li>Old Alt and drag to move only one side of curve.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Advanced<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Create path. Initializes vector from ext layer.<\/li>\n<li>Hold shift to deselect all points of vector object.<\/li>\n<li>Texture can be dragged while active.<\/li>\n<li>Alt drag FX icon to another layer &#8211; copies all effects.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>3D Text<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>3d-&gt;Repousse&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>Internal constraints feature; holes, shape removal.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Smart Objects<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Manipulation (re-size) without re sample.<\/li>\n<li>Smart objects are linked. Changes in any smart object are reflected in all duplicated copies.<\/li>\n<li>Right click on smart object-&gt;Duplicate using new smart object; creates unlinked smart object.<\/li>\n<li>Filters added to smart object are recorded and can be adjusted\/removed.<\/li>\n<li>Choose any smart object-&gt;right click-&gt;replace image. Image in all smart objects are replaced and maintain all adjustments.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Define Brush<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Select area\/image, then define. Adds to brushes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Content Removal<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Select area.<\/li>\n<li>Open Fill dialog (Shift+Backpace).<\/li>\n<li>Use-&gt;Content aware.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Adobe Illustrator<\/h2>\n<h3>Preset Art<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Window-&gt;Symbol-&gt;Dot Vector Pack<\/li>\n<li>Illustrator to PS:\u00a0 Copy from illustrator, select Shape, define custom shape.
