Based off of your reading of Foer’s Storytelling, what is a food memoir?

I found Mr. Foer’s story, or “food memoir” as it were to be more of a device to convey a general concept through storytelling. In my opinion food in this case was a subject material more than a definition of its own. Exchange food for children, automobiles, or any other subject of import to the author and I believe the overall concept if not the writing would be much the same.

Definition: A Food Memoir is a general memoir concept where food is one of an infinite array of interchangeable subjects.
